StratusStratus

Stratus provides mobility, accessibility, comfort and independent living solutions for those experiencing health-related conditions resulting from injury, accident, disability or recovery from surgery. This project was from the ground up, and included naming the company, creating the tagline, writing the copy, creating the value proposition and the voice of the brand.

The end deliverables were an 8-page brochure, logo and brand style guide, data sheets, business cards, letterhead and envelope and a complete website. Because Stratus deals with mobility and independence, I created a graphical element similar to weather isobars throughout the piece. This is an element we deployed through the website as well.

This complete startup package enabled the team at Stratus to begin their sales and marketing campaign and develop a new audience of private pay clients.

godfreyGodfrey Design Consultants, Inc.

A full-service and high-end design firm, Godfrey Design Consultants was officially my second client when I hung out my shingle, and to this day they keep me busy with a variety of ongoing communications projects. The founder, Betsy Godfrey, is one of the most savvy marketers I have as a client. She values the importance of advertising and marketing, and is always keeping me on the edge of my seat with her innovative ideas.

I've created ads and brochures, designed and rebuilt their SEO website, written copy and press releases and even assisted with their Aurora Award entries (they won 12, by the way). The latest project is taking them into the e-Newsletter world with a great little html email featuring the firm's unofficial mascot, Madison, a 180-lb. English Mastiff with a penchant to bark skyward at passing jets.

Local Motion of Boston

After redesigning and remessaging Local Motion of Boston's website, they asked me to help with several print pieces. The first request was for an ad in a local venue's promotional brochure. The second was to craft a companion piece for new marketing efforts. We started with a 12-page tabbed brochure that leveraged the imagery from the website. This morphed into a 4-page pocket brochure to hold individual tabs catered to specific audiences, from schools to corporate shuttle programs.

Opus Partners

After designing the Opus Partners logo, the client requested a few deliverables for upcoming conferences. I took the nautical theme through to each additional piece, which reinforced the copy and message the mergers & acquisitions firm established early on. These were the first pop-up banners I designed, an innovative marketing tool used primarily as part of a convention booth display. The banners operate like a rollerblind in reverse, coming up from the bottom. What's neat about them—and a design challenge as well—is that you can display them at three different heights. The challenge was to not only section the text at the proper breaks, but to make sure the copy message was succinct no matter how much of the banner was exposed.

at peaceAt Peace Hospice Care

After designing the At Peace Hospice Care brand, the new hospice needed a few print deliverables, similar to Opus Partners. I followed the same path I did with Opus, but created a marketing message of "A Hospice with Focus." I wrote the copy for these pieces and developed the theme of trees and leaves in all different stages of life.

The hospice is located in Calhoun, Georgia, which is in a rural but naturally beautiful part of Northwest Georgia. The hospice focuses on the basics, and intensive patient-family support. This has been, so far, a very successful marketing program for At Peace. When they first opened they quickly had half a dozen patients. Now they are approaching 50 patients and growing.

HJSimsHerbert J. Sims & Co., Inc.

Herbert J. Sims has been an awesome client for some time now, and I primarily create eight-page brochures for their various senior housing investment offerings. Due to investor regulations, however, I am not able to display them on my website. (collective sigh, I know...)

However, I did design Sims a four-page brochure for the National Investment Center (NIC) for the Seniors Housing & Care Industry annual conference held in Chicago. This brochure is similar to the work I do for the other larger investment brochures, and this was okay to post for your review.

Phil AndersonPhil Anderson Winter Park City Commissioner Campaign

The Phil Anderson campaign was my first design challenge in the political arena, and I have to say that Phil's team made it an easy and fun design effort. At the guidance of his political consultant, we created several direct mail deliverables that presented the real Phil Anderson to his hopeful constituency and fellow Winter Park residents. I used the star silhouette and logo combo as the template on all of his pieces, for a mini-branding and recognition throughout the campaign.
