Commissioned oil paintings

Recently, I began offering custom oil paintings as commissioned work. Creating an original piece of work for you is my highest joy.

If you’d like a custom oil on canvas of your pup or of your favorite seaside photo that inspires your creative flow, here’s how:

  1. Submit a contact form with details of your request

  2. I’ll reach out, we’ll set a time to talk about your project and you can email me the photo(s) you’d like to use as reference

  3. I’ll quote you a price and time frame, get a small deposit for supplies and begin your piece

I’ll also take photos of your piece’s progress and some time lapse video, keeping you up to date on my progress. Once the painting is complete, I will take a final photo and send it to you.

Oil paintings take time to dry, so your piece will require several weeks to dry (depending on the amount of layers and thickness of oil paint applied) before I can apply a final matte finish and ship your original commission to you.

You have the option of a metal frame or I can ship your final piece unframed and you can take it to your local framer to pick out the perfect frame for your beautiful artwork.

Watch The Story of Mia

Working on my first commission in a long time gave me a wonderful breakthrough in how I approach my artwork today. I created this video (below) to share The Story of Mia and the new awareness I now have about my work.

My most recent commission, Mia, 16x16 oil on canvas.

And her mom, my BFF, loved the original oil of her sweet Mia.

Commissioned artwork FAQs

  • Yes! Your deposit and full balance upon completion can be charged on American Express, Visa or Mastercard.

  • No. I will cover the shipping and insurance, and pack your original artwork with great care.

  • Honestly, it’s difficult to say because I don’t like to constrain the time it takes to complete your piece. On average, however, a 16”x16” oil painting of your favorite dog may take 4-6 weeks to fully render.

Remember that we’ll need to tack on the drying time, which can take at least that long. Original artwork takes time to create as well as complete. But don’t worry, your piece will receive the utmost care and creativity.

  • Right now, I’m primarily focused on my seascapes, sky vistas and anything to do with tropical imagery. I also recently started offering commissions of your favorite pup. (Sorry, no other pets at this time. I’m allergic to cats. LOL)
