MSL 201 - Introduction to Season 2 on Starting - A Family of Starters
Kicking off season two in this episode which is dedicated to starting. I share more about my family members and how their entrepreneurial DNA got them to start their businesses and projects. Starting is a little appreciated segment of the creative process where we conjure something magical that will be the bridge to us making money, helping others, and doing work we love. But it all has to begin with an idea that will trigger the starting gun. I was lucky to be surrounded by a lot of entrepreneurial starters who did work their way after realizing they weren't happy unless they were working for themselves.
Prompt
Similar to the last episode of season one with making a three-column list of things you’ve started, their status, and how you felt completing them (if you completed them), this episode’s prompt is to interview at least two people who have started something big. Whether it’s a business, an online store, a craft shop, a remodel, it doesn’t matter. Grab time with them, buy them coffee and interview them about starting their project. What gave them the idea? What was the impetus for them to move forward? What obstacles did they have to overcome in the beginning? What have they learned? What can they share from their experience for those who are planning to start something big?
