Start with the end in mind

When writing actionable copy, whether you are trying to find the perfect text for an opt-in button or you are writing copy for a sales page, start by putting yourself in your ideal prospect’s shoes. The below prompts will help you do that. For each of these 10 call-to-action (CTA) prompts, you’ll be able to draft some powerful, potent and simple CTAs.

As you think of your ideal prospect, write how you would address each of these prompts without judgment or worrying about “how to deliver.” The goal here is to capture the best ideas, phrases and copy so it resonates with your ideal prospect. You want to reverse engineer your copy so that it creates a higher desire for the prospect to take action. If you write from their desired outcome, you’ll have much better success in getting them to take action.
