Creating the human connection—the YOU connection

Terry Pappy

The COVID-19 pandemic of 2020 and on has birthed a new desire in the world. Do you sense it? To me, it’s a desire to cherish more of what we desire, appreciate our connections and relationships, our freedoms and choices. The awareness of these desires has become quite keen over the last year plus, and it has hit home with me very strongly.

I believe that the people who have their own business and the flexibility to position and operate the way they want have an incredible opportunity to shift as a result of this new desire. Those who see this rising tide of human-ness in business and who take advantage of repositioning their companies and brands as more about the human connection and relationships and being real will thrive in the post-pandemic marketplace.

We are all weary of over-automation and being treated like a data point on a remote server. Brands (big and small) who are insensitive, don’t listen, and rely on “I’m so sorry you’ve had that experience” tactics (the cheap CX) will become stale. Brands who recognize this groundswell of human-ness in business and take legitimate action with integrity and curiosity will do incredibly well.

This is why personal brands need to step up and be more of who they really are. They need to integrate their personal life with their business life. They need to share more of their innermost thoughts and desires. Their stories. Their struggles. Their successes. Their journey. To inspire others to join them.

The most important aspect of all of this is accessibility. Being human isn’t just about publishing more variety of content and showing more of who you are and what you’re into. But it’s about you being more accessible to your audience, your customers and your partners. And not just through your offers or products and engagements. To really make yourself accessible to anyone who wants to ask you a question, comment or share their ideas with you.

What ways can you discover to increase the “you” connection? Where in your business can you show up more? How can you engage, interact and be more you so people get the fullest experience of who you are and what you are up to as well as what you can do for them? Discover more of your identity by creating a deeper, more human connection with your tribe.🍀
