What is your creative flow?

Yesterday, on our monthly mastermind call run by a dear friend, Achim Nowak, I facilitated a 20-minute exercise where I helped my fellow masterminders connect with their creative flow. In the exercise, each person was able to identify the access point to their creative flow and how to intentionally connect with it at any time.

What was powerful for everyone, however, was identifying what was getting in the way of them living their passion more fully in their lives. I was touched by the moving and yet seemingly simple breakthroughs as each person shared as we moved through the exercise learning how to connect with our creative flow.

Here is an adjusted version of the exercise you can do yourself with a journal or a friend:

Connecting with Your Creative Flow

  1. Get present to your passion. Think about that one thing you do that you love to do, that gets you into the energy of joy, eagerness and passion.

  2. Journal (or share with a friend doing this exercise with you) what it is and how you feel when you are in action doing it. What is that experience like for you?

  3. Holding onto the energy of that passion you just brought to the present moment through the power of your mind, what is your one wish for that passion or experience?

  4. Journal your thoughts or share with a friend (things like, “I could do it all the time…I could evolve it into a business and earn money from it,” etc.)

  5. What would happen if your wish came true? Journal your response—go with whatever hits you first before your mind starts doing damage to the innocence of your wish.

  6. What is stopping you from making your wish come true and living your passion more fully? Again, journal or share with a friend what you honestly believe to be in the way of you living more fully your passion which nails the door open to your creative flow.

Whatever is stopping you is thwarting your creative flow. When you remove those perceived barriers—whether real physical barriers or mental/mindset/belief in nature—you open up your creative flow.

Being in action and living/expressing your passion is the key, the gateway, to your creative flow and it will work with anything—passion or otherwise. Exercising it through your passion is the best way to identify and experience your version of creative flow and you can parlay it into any activity. ANY.

So how was this exercise for you? What did you discover? Let me know! ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
